Artificial Intelligence Notice — My Tails
Version 2.0 · In force since 22 July 2026 · Supersedes the May 2026 version · History: mytails.eu/legal/historial
In compliance with Regulation (EU) 2024/1689 on Artificial Intelligence (EU AI Act), My Tails informs its users about the use of artificial intelligence systems and automated decision-making on the mytails.eu platform.
1. Risk classification
The EU AI Act classifies AI systems according to their level of risk. The systems used by My Tails are provisionally classified as:
| System | Classification | Obligations |
|---|---|---|
| Caregiver recommendation | Minimal risk | Voluntary transparency |
| Fraud detection | Limited risk | Transparency |
On identity verification (KYC)
The identity verification of Sitters is not carried out by My Tails, but by Stripe Payments Europe, Ltd. within its connected-account onboarding process (Stripe Connect Express). The Sitter provides their documentation directly to Stripe, and My Tails only receives the result of the verification and the account status.
My Tails does not deploy or operate any proprietary biometric-comparison system and does not process biometric data within the meaning of Article 4(14) of the GDPR. Any obligations that Regulation (EU) 2024/1689 might impose on Stripe's verification system correspond to Stripe in its capacity as provider and operator of that system; the processing is governed by its privacy policy (https://stripe.com/en/privacy).
2. AI systems in use
2.1 Caregiver recommendation system
What it does: the algorithm orders and suggests caregivers in the search results based on:
- Location and distance to the user
- Availability on the requested dates
- Ratings and number of completed services
- Price and type of service
What it does NOT do: it does not exclude caregivers on the basis of personal characteristics (age, gender, nationality).
Final decision: it is always for the owner to choose the caregiver.
The order in which profiles appear is determined by automated criteria, and this processing may significantly affect the volume of bookings a Sitter receives. The Sitter has the right to obtain human intervention, to express their point of view and to contest the outcome by writing to hello@mytails.eu; My Tails will respond with a statement of reasons within a maximum of 15 working days. My Tails does not make decisions based solely on automated processing that produce legal effects: the suspension or removal of a profile always requires prior human review.
In accordance with Article 27 of Regulation (EU) 2022/2065 (DSA) and Article 5 of Regulation (EU) 2019/1150, the main parameters of the recommendation system, in order of relative importance, are: geographical proximity, effective availability, average rating, response rate and cancellation rate (see the Sitter Agreement, section 8).
2.2 Chatbot / Virtual assistant
In My Tails' MVP there is no chatbot or virtual assistant: support is provided by people. If an AI-based assistant is added in the future, the user will see the following notice in the interface before starting the conversation, and this document will be updated:
🤖 You are talking to a My Tails virtual assistant based on
artificial intelligence. To speak to a person, type
"human agent" or write to hello@mytails.eu.
2.3 Identity verification (KYC)
What it does: verification of the Sitter's identity and payment data is carried out by Stripe during connected-account onboarding (section 1). My Tails does not analyse documents or process biometric data.
The Sitter will see the following notice during the process:
ℹ️ Your identity verification is carried out by Stripe, our
payment provider. You provide your documentation directly to
Stripe; My Tails only receives the result of the verification.
If it is not successful, you can request a review by writing
to hello@mytails.eu.
2.4 Fraud and anomalous-behaviour detection
What it does: automated systems monitor usage patterns to detect fraudulent behaviour (fake bookings, identity impersonation, platform abuse).
What it does NOT do: it does not make permanent-removal decisions automatically. Every permanent removal is reviewed by the My Tails team.
3. User's rights regarding automated decisions
In accordance with Article 22 of the GDPR and the EU AI Act, the user has the right to:
- Be informed when a relevant decision is made automatically
- Request an explanation of how the system affecting them works
- Request human intervention to review any automated decision
- Contest an automated decision they consider incorrect
How to exercise these rights:
📧 hello@mytails.eu
We will respond within a maximum of 30 days.
4. My Tails' obligations as an AI deployer (EU AI Act Art. 26)
In its capacity as a company that deploys AI systems provided by third parties (deployer), My Tails assumes the following obligations under Article 26 of Regulation (EU) 2024/1689:
- Use the AI systems in accordance with the provider's instructions.
- Ensure human oversight of the systems during their operation.
- Notify the system provider of any serious incident or malfunction.
- Inform affected users about the use of AI systems where legally required.
- Keep records of the events generated by high-risk AI systems in accordance with Art. 12 of the AI Regulation.
5. Application timeline of the AI Regulation (EU) 2024/1689
- From 2 August 2024: the prohibitions on unacceptable AI systems (Art. 5) are in force.
- From 2 August 2025: obligations for general-purpose AI models (GPAI) apply.
- From 2 August 2026: full application of the obligations for high-risk AI systems (Annex III).
My Tails will adapt its documentation and processes as the application timeline progresses.
6. What My Tails does NOT do with AI
For greater transparency, My Tails expressly declares that it does not use AI to:
- Set discriminatory dynamic prices by user profile
- Make decisions based on ethnic origin, gender, religion or other protected characteristics
- Analyse end-user (owner) biometrics for facial-recognition purposes
- Generate misleading content or deepfakes
- Profile minors
7. Updates
My Tails will update this notice when it incorporates new AI systems or modifies existing ones. Significant changes will be notified to users by email.
