General Terms of Use — My Tails
Version 2.0 · In force since 22 July 2026 · Supersedes the May 2026 version · History: mytails.eu/legal/historial
These General Terms of Use govern access to and use of the mytails.eu platform, owned by Natalia Grishchenko (hereinafter, "My Tails").
Accessing and using the platform implies full and unreserved acceptance of these terms.
1. Purpose
My Tails is a digital intermediation platform that connects pet owners with professional caregivers (sitters) for the contracting of animal care services.
My Tails acts solely as an intermediary. It is not a party to the service contract established between the pet owner and the sitter, nor is it an employer of the sitters registered on the platform.
2. Access to the platform
2.1 Access requirements
To register and use the platform, the user must:
- Be over 18 years of age
- Have full legal capacity to enter into contracts
- Provide truthful, complete and up-to-date information
- Have a device with internet access
2.2 Account registration
Registration is free. The user is responsible for:
- Keeping their access credentials confidential
- Notifying My Tails of any unauthorised use of their account
- All activity carried out from their account
My Tails reserves the right to suspend or cancel accounts that breach these terms.
3. Types of users
| Type | Description |

| Sitter (caregiver) | Person who offers animal care services through the platform |
The same user may hold both roles simultaneously.

5. Users' obligations
5.1 General obligations
All users undertake to:
- Provide truthful and non-misleading information
- Not impersonate other people
- Not use the platform for illegal or fraudulent activities
- Not attempt to access systems or data without authorisation
- Treat other platform users with respect
5.2 Specific obligations of owners
- Provide complete and truthful information about their animal's health and behaviour
- Inform the caregiver of any special characteristics of the animal (allergies, medication, fears)
- Ensure the animal has all mandatory vaccinations up to date
- Pay the agreed price through the platform's payment methods
5.3 Specific obligations of sitters
- Provide services with due diligence and care
- Hold a valid civil liability insurance policy
- Comply with Law 7/2023 of 28 March on the protection of the rights and welfare of animals (BOE-A-2023-7936)
- Issue invoices and comply with their tax obligations as self-employed persons
- Keep their availability up to date on the platform
- Immediately report any incident to the owner and to My Tails
For the purposes of this article, "immediate communication" means notification within 24 hours of becoming aware of the incident or anomaly.
6. Prohibited uses
The following is expressly prohibited:
- Making false or fraudulent bookings
- Agreeing to pay for a booking outside the platform in order to avoid the service fee corresponding to that booking
- Publishing false or manipulated reviews
- Using the platform for unauthorised advertising purposes
- Introducing viruses, malware or any harmful code
- Reverse-engineering or attempting to extract the platform's source code
- Using bots or automated systems to interact with the platform without authorisation
Important clarification. This prohibition refers only to paying outside the platform for bookings managed through it. Caregivers are independent professionals and retain full freedom to provide services by their own means or through other platforms (section 2 of the Sitter Agreement). My Tails imposes no exclusivity whatsoever.
6.1 Platform chat and contact details
The internal chat allows owners and caregivers to coordinate the service securely. To protect both parties and prevent fraud, before a booking is confirmed an automated system hides direct contact details (phone numbers, emails, messaging handles, links and addresses) that may appear in messages, showing a notice to the user. Sharing contact details before booking is not penalised, but is discouraged: paying outside the platform deprives the owner of the refund, dispute-resolution and support guarantees.
Once the booking is confirmed, the contact details needed to provide the service become available to both parties. The processing of messages is described in the Privacy Policy, section 3.4.
Breach of these prohibitions may lead to suspension of the account and, where appropriate, legal action.
7. Intellectual property
All platform content — including texts, images, logos, design, source code, database and structure — is the property of My Tails or has been licensed for its use.
Users retain ownership of the content they upload (animal photos, descriptions). By uploading it, they grant My Tails a non-exclusive, free licence, limited to the territory of the European Union, to display such content exclusively within the My Tails platform for the sole purpose of providing the contracted service. This licence does not authorise My Tails to use such content for advertising or commercial purposes outside the platform without the User's express consent.
8. My Tails' liability
My Tails is not responsible for:
- The quality, suitability or outcome of the services provided by caregivers
- Damage caused to the animal during the provision of the service
- The accuracy of the information provided by users
- Service interruptions due to force majeure or technical failures beyond its control
- The content of third-party websites linked from the platform
My Tails acts as an intermediary in good faith and will take reasonable measures to verify the identity and qualifications of caregivers, without this implying any guarantee as to their conduct.
9. Obligations as an online intermediary platform (DSA)
In accordance with Regulation (EU) 2022/2065 (DSA), My Tails applies the following policies:
Notice and action mechanism: Any user may notify My Tails of allegedly illegal content or conduct by writing to hello@mytails.eu. My Tails will acknowledge receipt and process the notice within a maximum of 15 working days, with a reasoned communication of the decision adopted (Article 16 of the DSA).
Statement of reasons: When My Tails adopts restrictive measures against a User (suspension, content removal, visibility restriction), it will communicate the reasons clearly and comprehensibly, indicating the available means of redress, in accordance with Article 17 of the DSA.
Transparency of the recommendation system: My Tails uses a ranking algorithm to order sitter search results. The main parameters, in order of relative importance, are: geographical proximity, effective availability, average rating, response rate and cancellation rate (Article 27 of the DSA; details in the Sitter Agreement, section 8).
Internal complaint: Regarding any My Tails decision affecting the User, they may submit an internal complaint by writing to hello@mytails.eu. My Tails will resolve it with a statement of reasons within a maximum of 15 working days.
10. Modification and suspension of the service
My Tails reserves the right to:
- Modify, suspend or interrupt the service, in whole or in part, at any time
- Modify these General Terms of Use, notifying users 15 calendar days in advance by email
- Reject or cancel registrations that do not meet the established requirements
Continued use of the platform after the notice period established for each type of modification implies acceptance of the changes. For modifications that are detrimental to the User, My Tails will give at least 30 calendar days' notice, and the User will have the right to terminate the contract without penalty if they do not accept the new terms.
11. Applicable law and jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by Spanish law.
Where the user is a consumer, the competent court will be that of their domicile, and no agreement to the contrary is valid (Article 90.2 of the TRLGDCU and Article 54.2 of the Civil Procedure Act). For users who are not consumers, the parties submit to the courts of Torremolinos.
Alternative dispute resolution: the European ODR platform ceased to operate in 2025 (Regulation (EU) 2024/3228). Consumers may turn to the Consumer Arbitration Boards (Juntas Arbitrales de Consumo) of their autonomous community, to the municipal consumer information services (OMIC) and, in cross-border disputes, to the European Consumer Centre in Spain (www.cec-msc.es).
